Why this isn't one click yet

Chrome only allows one-click installs from the Web Store, and blocks loading extensions from a downloaded file for everyone else. Our Web Store listing is in review - in the meantime, the Load unpacked steps below get you the identical build. Chrome will show a small "developer mode extension" reminder; that's expected for beta installs and goes away once we're on the store.

Five steps to running LayoutMark

Desktop Chrome (or any Chromium browser - Edge, Brave, Arc).

    Download & unzip

    Grab the extension above, then unzip it. You'll get a layoutmark folder - remember where it is.

    Open the extensions page

    Go to chrome://extensions (paste it into the address bar) or Menu → Extensions → Manage extensions.

    Turn on Developer mode

    Flip the Developer mode toggle in the top-right corner of that page.

    Load unpacked

    Click Load unpacked and pick the unzipped layoutmark folder. LayoutMark appears in your toolbar.

    Activate on any page

    Open a page you're working on and press Alt Shift L (or click the icon). The toolbar drops in - start pinning.

Start local, no account

Right after install, LayoutMark works fully offline and private - inspect, measure, grid and annotate, all stored in your browser. Nothing leaves your machine.

Connect to your team

Sign in from the side panel to sync annotations, screenshots and design-system profiles with your team on layoutmark.com. Sign in to your workspace.
